Is Candomblé a type of magic or something?
Candomblé is a culture and a religion. The Candomblé priest (Pai de Santo) is used, regardless of being part of religion, to receive spiritual guidance. Usually those who turn to a priest aim to solve a contingent problem, be it material or sentimental. The priest can point out a certain path and suggest that certain rituals be performed (for example, giving offerings to the orixás). These rituals are not magical. Candomblé rituals are a way of acting on energies and are always in harmony with nature.
