Exú is undoubtedly one of the most popular orixás. He is also one of the most invoked for his ability to let people achieve their goals. Finally, he is the most human of all. However, in common perception it is wrongly and unfairly syncretized with the devil. In Candomblé there is no representation of the contrast between good and evil. There is no such figure as the Satan of the Jewish and Christian tradition. Therefore, theologically speaking, it seems totally wrong to propose this assimilation. On this topic of syncretism, I will certainly have the opportunity to return, proposing texts for further study.
